Life Behind Bars For Vick: Preview

November 21, 2007

Jail officials wouldn’t discuss their new celebrity inmate, but a peek inside the facility provided a glimpse of what life for the Atlanta Falcons quarterback will be like in the coming days. And it’s not exactly festive.

The jail houses inmates charged with offenses from misdemeanors to murder. About 40 of the approximately 425 current inmates are women, who are housed separately. Some inmates are confined to small cells, while others are housed in dorms.

High-profile inmates are sometimes kept apart from the general population, but jail officials won’t say where Vick is being held within the facility.

Vick can forget his flashy suits. Inmates wear standard-issue black-and-white striped uniforms. One bonus: they get to wear their own shoes.

Meals are delivered to each of the jail’s 20 housing units. Thursday’s will be extra special: turkey, stuffing, rice, cranberry sauce and sweet potato pie.

Michael Vick Starts Sentence

November 20, 2007

Michael Vick made arrangements Monday with the U.S. Marshall Service to voluntarily self-surrender to begin serving his sentence before his sentencing hearing on Dec. 10. Vick began serving his sentence Monday not because of a violation of any condition of his bond. Vick turned himself in so that he can begin serving his sentence earlier, meaning whatever sentence he receives on Dec. 10 potentially will end earlier. Vick’s sentencing hearing before Judge Henry Hudson will take place on Dec. 10 in Richmond, Va., which is when he will find out the extent of his sentences for chargers he pleaded guilty to in his dogfighting case.

Tyson Gets 24 Hours In Jail

November 19, 2007

Mike Tyson was sentenced Monday to 24 hours in jail and three years’ probation for drug possession and driving under the influence.

The former heavyweight champion had pleaded guilty in September to a single felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor DUI count.

“I take responsibility for my actions,” Tyson told Superior Court Judge Helene Abrams in an almost inaudible voice before she handed down the sentence.

Tyson, who will begin serving his jail time Tuesday morning, left the courthouse without speaking to reporters.

T.I. On Grind To Finish New Albums!

November 12, 2007

From AllHipHop;

Not sure of the origins of this one, but I heard that T.I. is bored while he is on house arrest. With nothing to really do, he’s resorted to recording new songs in his home studio. They are saying this new album in progress is Paper Trail. Apparently T.I. hasn’t written his raps down since his debut album. Hmmmm…I think we need an audit to verify rappers that make this claim. Anyway, T.I. is now writing his raps down and that’s the reason for the album title.
