With the recent boom in running retro styles, big brands have been digging through the old catalogs in search of next greatest hit. adidas has done well with this upcoming July release of the ZX 90s Run Tex. Everything from shape to construction seems extremely spot on with a good colorway to match. Stay tuned for more releases pertaining to Summer 2008.
While it hardly comes as much of a surprise, Ericsson Chief Marketing Officer Johan Bergendahl is now predicting nothing short of the demise of WiFi hotspots, and he’s saying that they’ll be replaced by — you guessed it — mobile broadband. Speaking at a conference in Stockholm, Bergendahl said that “hot spots at places like Starbucks are becoming the telephone boxes of the broadband era,” and that “in a few years, [HSPA] will be as common as Wi-Fi is today.” Leading to that widespread use, he says, is ever-decreasing prices for mobile broadband subscriptions, and the fact that HSPA is being built into more and more laptops. Of course, if other companies have their way, WiFi hotspots could become a thing of the past simply because entire cities would effectively be one huge hotspot, although we’d gladly take both options.
Taking the hybrid thing to a new level, Jordan Brand has created this Frankenstein bag incorporating highlights from models including the AJVI, AJ VII, AJ XII, AJ XIII and AJ XVII. A realistic looking sole can be seen representing the base of the bag with various highlights through out. Not the first time the Jordan Brand has incorporated actual footwear into a bag, previously using the Air Jordan III as the theme behind a bag designed by Michael Ditullo.
We have previously seen the 1000% Fendi Bearbricks which were produced for VIP members of Fendi only. If you missed out on that, you can check it out here. However, nothing compares in size to this really huge Bearbrick which stands in one of the Fendi stores in Paris. You probably won’t be able to purchase this as this is probably a store display. So for now, all we can do is just look at the pictures and drool.
Update: There is apparently one of these at the 5th Avenue Fendi store in Manhattan, New York as well.
Some interesting Stussy Hawaii Bearbricks made its way onto eBay. According to Toybeast these did never go on sale and were just used as give-aways, probably for the initial store opening, of the rather new Stussy Hawaii flagship store.
The Bearbricks came in two colorways, blue and pink. Check out more pics after the jump.
Click through any sneaker forum and check to see the deranged effect sneakers have had on some as people profess their hardcore affection to sneakers as they lick the soles of their sneakers. On that note, beware of lead poisoning or some other medical illness as Reebok has a Kool Aid collaboration in the works which offers scented soles to the neon colored sneakers. SpongeBob Square Pants x Bape has a new competitor for best collabo of the year and we’re only days into 2008.

We have seen lots of styles coming back, especially the ones inspired by the 80′s. But this MCM Varsity Jacket has to be the ultimate comeback from the era. The Munich based luxury leather goods company had its high times in the 80′s until the mid 90′s. Then suddenly their loud styles, immense use of gold were not really in fashion anymore. Since ex Adidas creative director Michael Michalsky took over the creative direction of the brand, it slowly starts to pop up again and new flagship stores are being opened. Most recently they also got together with Married To The Mob on a collaboration bag.
Now they have something for men, and got together with Liquor, Women & Tears to collaborate on this varsity jacket. The sleeves come in classic MCM monogram leather. A large chest embroidery does not hide who made the jacket. The satin inner lining also has the logo plastered all over. The jacket comes with a leather name tag, that you usually only find on premium luggage collections and a gold plated serial number tag.
The jacket will be released very soon. Wear this jacket with the Adidas Superstar x MCM, and you got the perfect outfit.
Bape and G-Shock have had a relatively long relationship spanning over several different collaborative efforts. Their latest DW5600 features a black body with a brown camo dial. A red Bape Head has also been inserted against the dial’s backdrop. Available now at Cliffedge.
Here are the latest Nike Air Force Ones which include a collaboration with Nitro Microphone Underground, a hip hop group in Japan. The two models “Macka-Chin” and “Suiken” are named after the emcees from the group. These Air Force Ones feature premium materials and will only be available at certain stores.
